Astrology is all about time. It is defined as the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies and how these are interpreted as having an influence on human interactions and the natural world. Where were these celestial bodies in the sky at the time of your birth? Where are they now? Where will they be in the future?
- If you have trouble getting pregnant, don’t forget to look towards the sky – a little astrology might just do the trick! Follow the Phase of the Moon: There is also a belief in astrology that your fertility is heightened during the time when the alignment and phase of the moon is.
- Questions involving pregnancy, fertility and childbirth can be among the most important.Horary astrology, which answers specific questions and provides concrete predictions, can be of great assistance for those waiting to see if they are pregnant or if they have issues regarding fertility and childbirth By judging the position of the heavens at the birth of the question, rather than the birth.

- Astrology is all about time. Most doctors will agree with the statement that sometimes with fertility treatment, especially where there are no specific problems, that it is simply “not the right time”. This is not comforting to the patient, who is usually desperate to fall pregnant.
Before a consultation couples provide their natal data: the precise time, date and location of their birth. From this the astrologer will draw up each person’s birth horoscope or chart, and it is the analysis of these charts that provides the information regarding the couple’s chances of becoming parents.
Astrology teaches us that there is a time and place for everything and that it is not often that technology can manipulate our Fate. We can use Astrology to identify the times when we are most likely to conceive and even then, there is no guarantee, just an increased chance of conception.
Most doctors will agree with the statement that sometimes with fertility treatment, especially where there are no specific problems, that it is simply “not the right time”. Of course this is not comforting to the patient, who is usually desperate to fall pregnant, but an astrologer can help by pin-pointing those fertile moments in a chart and getting the couple to accept the nature of time and patience.
There can be up to three astrologically fertile moments in a year in anyone’s chart, at child bearing age of course, and it would benefit both the patient and the doctor if patients would use astrology to time their treatments.
Astrology can help diagnose medical conditions that inhibit fertility. This is the most wonderful practical application of astrology – one’s physical health and the condition of the uterus, the number of eggs, the condition of fallopian tubes and the sperm count as well as morphology and motility, are all visible in the chart.
A consultation can also help to identify previously existing conditions related to STDs and other blockages of the tubes and advise on the likelihood of laparoscopy or surgery . It can help identify thyroid or other endocrine factors that inhibit hormone development, and help identify any psychological background that might be inhibiting fertility in both men and women.
Astrology, says Smuts Allsop, is uniquely positioned to address illness in the sense that illness is seen as a journey of self-identity. This is in keeping with the genre of narrative medicine, established by doctors in the 1990s, that has shown that fiction heals. Which does not mean that one can simply “make it up” or that is rubbish; on the contrary the placebo effect is most effective, the more educated, the more thorough and the more skilled the astrologer.
– Getting Pregnant Using Astrological Timing…
I was drawn to Nicola Smuts Allsop at the 2018 IVC Astrology Conference, firstly because of her awesomely cool fashion sense (this lady *knows* how to dress!)
Secondly because she’s a leading expert in an area most women find interesting – fertility.
It’s always exciting to meet astrologers with a special niche, and Nicola has developed a truely unique method with Fertility Astrology, helping couples on their journey to parenthood.
An alternative and supplement to Fertility Treatment, Nicola’s specific and unique astrological techniques can be successfully applied to modern day fertility issues. Check out the video below.
And, what’s even more amazing is that in addition to couples consultation, Nicola has also developed an app that suggests the best times for just $9.99 usd – so everyone can afford to work with her method.
Needless to say I’m keenly pressing this on a few good friends looking to bring babies into the world – watch this space!!
I caught up with Nicola with a few of my burning questions, hopefully this gives you a bit more information too!
Q&A With Nicola Smuts Allsop, Fertility Astrology
SSS: I love how you speak about the ‘right time’, and fertility being revealed by more than just a woman’s temperature and oestrogen levels. As an astrologer myself I have a huge respect for the magic of perfect timing. Conscious astrology. What is your advice for coming into alignment with the planets, naturally?
Nicola: Everyone has their own unique chart and their own unique unfolding of time and growth cycles. We don’t all arrive at puberty at the exact same age, so it is obvious that we don’t all conform to being fertile at the same age either… Astrology is really good at describing the quality of time, and should be used in conjunction with medical treatment (not instead of) to find out when the couple should invest their time and emotional resources.
SSS: Without giving away your unique method, which are the planets that reveal a good time to get pregnant?
Nicola: Firstly I always find out which planet is the Almuten of pregnancy, which is an algorithm from Omar of Tiberius, and which appears in The book of Nativities translated by Robert Hand (Project Hindsight Press). Once I have ascertained that, I want to see Jupiter making hugely positive aspects to the Almuten, the angles and luminaries, or highlighting the Almuten by profection or secondary progression.
SSS: Can you say – broadly speaking – that certain transits are more favourable for pregnancy than others? For example Jupiter in the first, second and 5th I’ve heard are ‘growth’ transits for the person (1st house), their role (2nd house) and of course the 5th house is the zone of children, creativity and creating, and of sex and producing something.
Nicola: Again, I focus on the Almuten of Pregnancy, and of course if Jupiter is at the same time, transiting the Moon/Sun or the 5th, 1st or 11th cusp, I will tend towards a prediction of pregnancy. A transit of Jupiter to the second for me is only an indicator of wealth or professional activity…
SSS: In a nutshell, how would you convince a sceptic?
Nicola: I don’t bother with sceptics.
SSS: Me too! Heheh. To me, this sounds like a truly empowering addition for those people looking to get pregnant. So often we’re warned that “we’d better get on with it” and reproduce on a timeline, however this seems to open up the possibilities to pregnancies later in life for some – especially if their horoscope indicates a later birth. Have you ever found this to be the case?
Nicola: The app is particularly educational for younger users, the medical questionnaire at the beginning highlights the physical aspects of infertility and will illuminate what tests are needed in order to ascertain whether or not you are truly challenged or just missing the right time. Lifestyle questions raise the issue of nutrition and the negative effects of alcohol etc, so again, the general public will be better informed as to what can affect one’s ability to conceive. The cost of the app is also really reasonable considering the app contains my personal astrological technique using the Almuten of Pregnancy and secondary progressions, and it a wonderful “lite” version of my full consultation service.

Many individuals and couples battling with infertility explore different ways to support their treatment, and Fertility Astrology is a perfect method to support mainstream medical practices.
All Nicola needs is a birth date, the time you were born and place. The same information is needed for the partner, gestational carrier or egg donor.
